How do cultured values influence perspectives?

I grew up valuing and practicing manners and courteousness so I more or less expect the same whenever I meet someone new. My values has shaped my worldview in a way that I look for the good in things, no matter how bad it may appear. This means that when I interpret text, I attempt to be as optimistic as possible.

How does the context of reception influence meaning?

Context of reception influences meaning in a way that the readers may relate with the circumstances and/or situation of the author.

What are the contexts affecting how you make meaning of the world?

How important is the author in understanding context?

The author is but a storyteller; one who synthesises tales to relay a message or entertain. We must relay on our own contexts to draw meaning from text.

What is the relationship between author and context?

The author may provide building blocks from which we add to our ever-growing contexts.

Are there limits to this relationship?

Authors may not always truly authenticate a particular group’s context, and I think that is the beauty of writing.
