Boxing & Muay Thai Final Reflection

I don’t think I would do anything differently except start sooner. I began boxing out of pure curiosity and boredom while in lockdown. There was an added bonus of doing it without charge and I loved it immediately. Starting at grade 11 would have saved me a lot of agony about my feelings towards swimming. I think I would be more experienced now but I take every blessing as it is, arriving at the right time. The main question that has emerged is: “How do I share this sport with other people while minimizing chances of injury?” The answer to this question is unraveling itself the more I coach students on friday classes. It has provided a heightened understanding of my own  technical mistakes and how to be a better listener. Week in and week out, we, the student coaches, are learning what it takes to structure a class and instruct students on a one-to-one basis. I am so grateful for the community of boxers in this school, most especially Coach Kris and Coach Sul as they have been such welcoming figures.
