MUN End Reflection – LO5

My final MUN conference, MUNUWC 2019, was an excellent way to end my journey. I put into effect the skills that I had learned to great effect, speaking with moderation but with meaning, and taking charge as a senior figure in my group. While I did not win any awards and was initially embittered, feeling that I had spent a great deal of time and effort with no hard evidence to back up this investment, I now appreciate a greater achievement of mine, which was my much improved collaboration and leadership skills within my group. I lead the debate on the protection of indigenous rights while simultaneously encouraging the contributions of my team-members on the subject. Working with my group, we efficiently laid out a plan of action during our first day, created a strong resolution overnight, and successfully presented a finished product at the start of the next day. All in all, I’m now proud of the improvement I’ve made as a delegate and as a collaborator.
