1878->2018, has women’s status changed?

To what extent are Ibsen’s words still true today? provide real life examples in your response.

Ibsen said in 1878 that the women back then in his society system are not capable of being themselves and he pointed out that there is an unfair situation with the balance tilted more to men than women. Even today, this inequality between man and woman still have not been completely solved yet.
Only in very few countries have the laws been equal for all, nor the perspectives of the people have changed to see man and woman equally entirely yet. Even so, many big progresses have been made these days. My country, China, is thought to have one of the most Patriarchy traditions among the cultures, but surprisingly the laws are being quite considerate and emphasized on women's rights in many ways.
For example, in this article it listed some of the statements made by the authorities of China,

"The Chinese government supports the principle of nondiscrimination, where men and women are equal in the eyes of Chinese national laws. China’s Constitution states in Article 48, “Women in the People’s Republic of China enjoy equal rights with men in all spheres of life, in political, economic, cultural, social and family life”. It adds, “The State protects the rights and interests of women”. Likewise, the Law of People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Rights and Interests of Women underscores the equal rights of men and women, and also mentions at the end of Article 2, “Discriminating against, maltreating, abandoning and physically abusing women are prohibited”."

it is legally reassuring the rights of all women and said to promote the equality between men and women in all aspects. Also according to the records, China is marked as the 40th among countries globally in sense of gender inequality. To be honest I did not know all that before, after reading all those I believe that at least the law is being very supportive of women in China.
However, in sense of the public and private individuals, I think it is still a big problem that many in China don't want ot accept the complete equality between genders in China. Some survey have concluded that the income of women in general is still around 75% of the men. By listening to the daily conversations in the society, it is very obvious to hear something like how women should be subject to men. In less developed areas of China, women have very little right that is not much different than before.
His words is still very true today, as far as I know.
