Academics have always been something that I have enjoyed, and in grade 9, many subjects have become even more interesting. Some subjects that I find interesting are the three sciences, as well as economics. I enjoy those subjects because they are different from subjects like maths and English, which are more knowledge focused. Science and economics are more connected to the outside world, and learning more about the subjects helps me to get a better understanding of the world, which I find very fascinating.

While I have had science in my middle school years, I still find the content that is covered in high school new and interesting. In high school, there is a greater focus on a larger variety of different topics, which I enjoy more. One particular part of science that I enjoy is physics, especially learning about electricity and circuits. Previously, I had not learned much about that specific topic and had very little understanding of how electricity worked. After learning more about it, I have found that electricity is much simpler and not as complicated as it can seem. This knowledge is especially important in this modern age, with electricity playing such an important part in my life.

Another subject that I find very interesting is economics. Unlike science, I have not really had much exposure to learning about it before, so almost everything covered this year was new for me. One reason that I find economics so interesting is because it is so connected to the modern world. Even learning a few relatively simple concepts, like supply and demand, has helped me to gain a much greater understanding of how the buying and selling of different goods and services work. In the next year, I think that learning even more about economics could be very interesting.

Overall, I feel that I enjoyed grade 9 much more than I enjoyed the years of middle school. I find that going more in-depth in many subjects covered is much more interesting, and helps me understand better. The grade 9 exams were also a very important part of this year for me. Just like many other things, this style of taking exams was new for me and also helped me to learn a lot about preparation and organization. In general, I feel excited for what is to come and hope that next year will be more interesting.
