Capturing East is a service that I’ve joined for the first time, this year. That being said, I have been a part of a few college and local services before. I think what’s different about Capturing East is that it is quite unique in terms of it’s goal. It’s important to understand and appreciate the people around us who do so much for us, is the basic premise. 

It’s such a unique and achieveable goal, and brings such a sense of community. I’ve had experience also in building a portfolio and many websites, so I have decided to be on the logistics team for now to lend my skills to that. 

Although I am good at approaching and talking to new people, I feel that I would like to improve this skill further. At times, I can only manage to say hello and don’t know what to say further, however I would love to have authentic conversations where I am able to find common ground with those I will interview as part of the service. 

Right now, we’ve only had one meeting due to government measures, but I look forward to working with everyone in the service and creating a great website to amplify the stories of people in the school community!
