Project week reflection: Initial

For project week this year, I decided to collaborate with 4 of my friends and decided to go Nepal. The initial stages which included the researching of flights, hotels to stay and countries to go. In this stage, we found challenges such as finding the activities we all could agree on and especially finding activity groups that were trustworthy.  Over the course of this, I learnt to take risks as we had to trust organisations to an extent we may not have normally been comfortable with. Alongside this, I learnt to take initiative as I was able to dictate which activities we took as a group instead of arguing as there was a time constraint.  After learning a process as such, I decided to become more organised and learn to plan more for the future rather than rushing everything last minute. As the stress of planning a trip was much greater than expected.

Through the initial stages,  I learnt how important skills are and the roles they play in a task as hard as planning a trip to Nepal. For one, I was able to develop more initiative skills and learn to become more vocal, as if I wanted to have a certain activitiy I would also need to contribute.  Overall, I feel that the initial stages has brought me new skills and has allowed me to understand the importance of collaborative skills and taking new challenges.

LO3 INITIATIVE (Planning and initiated activities)

  •  What activities did I plan?
  •  What was the outcome of my planning? How do I know?
  •  How did my plans change as the activity progressed? Why?
  •  What difficulties did I face in executing my plan? How did I overcome these challenges?
  •  How did I respond to changes in plans? Would I respond the same way in future? Why/why not?
