In the course of the extended essay writing day, I acquired insight into the marking criteria, both general and specific to global politics. Through reading an exemplary essay I was able to understand the requirements of a well-scoring global politics essay. This allowed me to formulate my research question and make a detailed outline of the structure of the essay. Over the next few days, I aim to complete my research around the section of theoretical foundations in regards to the US foreign policy. Writing the 1000 words, I aim to make clear links between the context of the issue and the course content to analyse my research question.
