Earlier today we had a workshop in Drama with a theatre director, and it was really worthwhile and interesting. I learned many different things that could be really useful when we’re creating our storytelling drama pieces. Here are some of the notes I took:
- tempo you can build and get faster and faster (creates tension)
- repetition used to create meaning (visually compelling)
- duration is the length of time (use creatively)
Tempo can be manipulated to create a tense and thrilling pace.
- AWARENESS: self, space, gaps
- ENSEMBLE: listening, reacting, alert
- ENERGY: opposite highs and lows, big difference
- FOCUS: discipline, staying on task
ACTING
- ONLINE: alert, in the zone, generative, right brain,
- OFFLINE: reflective, out the zone, analytical, edit
