IB Music Vibes was my first performance in the IB Music course, and I was both excited and nervous about it. I played Beethoven’s flute duet, ‘Allegro and Menuett’ with Kitty, also an IB music student who plays the flute.
Although I had played my flute alone in front of an audience, there were only parents that I knew. This time, there were my friends, my teachers, and lots of people I knew in the audience, which somehow felt strange and awkward to me. However, I wasn’t nervous on stage than I thought I would be on stage. A smile came on my face naturally, and that was one of the things I felt happy about. I think the performance went quite well-except for the part that we got mixed up and had to start again from the start, and it flowed well after that. I was frustrated with myself how I got a few notes wrong at the end, when it was almost perfect. I think I was losing concentration at that moment, so I feel concentration important than anything now that I have finished the performance. When I finished, I was pleased with so many of my friends listening to performance, and giving me feedback, which I had never experienced before. I hope to give a good performance next time, too.
