In this session, we started to glaze our pottery pieces. By glazing our pieces it allowed for beautiful colours to come out and for the texture to be more smooth. Before, glazing we needed to do an initial firing of the piece in the kiln after the moistured was gone. By firing the piece twice, once without and once with the glaze, it will make the pieces less brittle.

We developed our skills to glaze the pieces, it was different to just normally painting our pieces, as the glaze required to be added in layers for it to come out best. Like the other skills in Pottery, it was the first time glazing a piece. This session developed my skills in pottery further.
