PSE End of Unit Reflection
What were some of the most interesting discoveries you made about yourself through the Myers Briggs and Holland Code tests? How has your planning for the future changed or stayed the same during this unit?
My Myers Briggs code is ISFP. The tests have allowed me to identify my strengths and areas which I need to improve upon to make myself an attractive applicant. My goals for the future have mostly stayed the same, but I’ve discovered new ways in which I can prepare to achieve these goals, such as creating a CV to map out my achievements and thinking about what I can do to make it look better. Overall, this unit has made me feel more confident about my university application process and preparation.
Name two or three important skills you learned about maintaining positive professional relationships and how will you use them in the future.
I’ve studied some people’s skills – in particular, ‘relationship bank accounts’ and what strengthen and weaken them. Relationship skills are always important for maintaining ties beyond periods in life, for later use or for personal happiness.
I’ve also learned about the importance of discussing problems with others and how to approach sticky situations.
Thinking about your future 5, 10, or 15 years from now, what are some themes / aspects of life that you want to keep central to your planning? What are some key values that will drive your decision making?
I think that there should always be some focus on talking through new processes with people who have either been through it before or have done a lot of research on it. And of course, there should be a strong relationship between you and the people you’re working with, which can be strengthened using the skills I have learned from this unit. I also want to take into account my personality and how that will impact any decisions I make or projects I take on, how it will serve as a benefit and what skills I can take from it into my work.
