One of the highlights of my CAS experience was being a part of Culturama – a student led dance show that happens annually here in UWCSEA east. For the last 3 years of high school, I was only an observer of this showcase however during my last year of high school I realised that this was something that I would probably never get an opportunity to take part in again, and therefore decided to audition for the Haka of New Zealand.

Although much of the leading and choreographing was done by the dance leaders themselves, I felt that as a group of 20 boys we also came up with ideas and plans collectively that we all agreed upon and that we all felt would be of our best interest. We planned together the positions as well as different aspects of the lighting of the stage in order to ensure that the performance would look as we intended it to which in the end I was very proud of how well we stayed collectively which ultimately led to the success of our dance.
