the main theme of the handmaid’s tale is the oppression of female, as well as the the normalization of such ideas in the society. In this advert by Saint Hoax, it reflects the idea of male dominance, and the inferior position of women in the society. It also deals with the sexual objectification of women, which is also present in the novel in which the handmaids are being treated as an object that carries babies. This advert also reflects the domestic role of women, which is also evident in the novel where the wives, econowives, marthas, and handmaids all have domestic roles and are dependent on their husbands / commander.

The normalization of such ideas is shown through the presence of multiple adverts that all share the similar theme in which women are sexually objectified and deemed inferior to men, which is all inclusive in Saint Hoax’s campaign.
