Project Week Final Reflection Part 1/2

Heyhey,

// I will create two different posts, just because I want to show all the amazing and cool things we did and make sure that my thoughts do not get lost in the pool of nice videos and pictures //

Firstly, a small video I but together of some of the clips we made during our week in Hong Kong 🙂

I know these videos usually have some nice background music, but adding to the fact I have never made a video before this one, I think there is something beautiful about the silence and little background noises over our talk. Feels more real 🙂

Overall, it has been decided that our PW official theme song was “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

For some other moments:

Meeting the wild cows living on Lantau
Group picture with the new friend
Randomly meeting David himself in Crossroads on one evening

David is the son of the founders of Crossroads and now works at the foundation with his parents. We had the privilege of meeting him once before, just a few weeks before going to Crossroads, as he came to speak in our school.

Meeting Dixon in Branches of Hope

Dixon has been in Hong Kong for 17 years now, still not having gained refugee statues. He is one of the most happiest people I have met in a long while. We had the privilege of hear about his life and journey to Hong Kong and he was very keen to take a picture with us. “One day in 20 years, when you all are some important political figures I will give you a call and be like “Hey, I am Dixon!” and you will be like “Who?” and then I will send you this picture and be like “That Dixon from 20 years ago from Christian Action in Hong Kong! Can you help me get out of here?””.

He even gave us a signed CD that he had been part of making. Full of old school rap and also some slower tunes here and there. We had some nice time in the boarding house listening to it in a bigger bunch 🙂

Visiting the Avenue of Stars in rainy weather
With out certificate from Crossroads

To end our work in Crossroads, we also got a certificate to bring back, where the foundation thanked us for our help. In reality, I think it should have really been the other way around – we should have done the thanking for the warm welcome and to all the amazing people we met.
