The global issue that I’ve chosen is Quality Education and Reduced Inequalities. I will base this mostly on my service. So in my service: ‘Theatre and Dance with 4pm’. 4pm is a Malay organisation in Singapore that works to provide good lives for the Malay community in Singapore. The kids that I work with in my service are from families with low economic background so 4pm has a daycare where they can stay and learn. What we do is plan sessions that are in tune with what they are learning according to their syllabus and include physical elements of it such as theatre, dance, colouring, singing and the rest. Thus, by using the many facilities that are at the disposal of our school, we are able to aid in their learning and thus help them obtain a good quality education but also reducing inequality that exist due to the economic welfare gap in Singapore’s population. That is how I believe my actions have had an impact on those particular sustainable development goals.
