Initial Reflection

Psychology is a relatively new topic for me and so because of this, I am unsure of what to expect in the coming two years. However, I am excited to learn more about the three main approaches in the topic (biological, sociocultural, and cognitive), all things that I have read about during the summer. As I am inexperienced in this topic, I will try to find new ways of learning that are more efficient than the current ones I use. One method I have read about is creating a story for everything you learn. For example, if you are to memorize a list of vocabulary, you would create a visual story that includes each word. This way, the information is more easily stored in your brain and thus less effort and time is required to go through all the components you need to learn. I will also make sure to continue with my communication skills and frequently ask questions in class, as well as applying any new knowledge to current day occurrences. This way, I can attain a better understanding as to how each concept truly works, thus making me a more skilled psychologist. I will continue to document my journey throughout the year and reflect upon my progress, as well as setting new goals in the process.
