LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
During our Japan summer trip to go and take photos, but during this circuit breaker and after the first two seasons of photography me and my friends dedicated to creating opportunities to not only go around Singapore to take photos. It was fun to try and find cool spots in Singapore as it meant we’d get to explore a aspect of the local culture I haven’t done before. Furthermore, although we didn’t exactly plan a lot of the trips and more just walked around it was fun to try and take interesting shots as we roamed around.
LO7: Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions
One thing I realise only afterwards is that having chosen to do this during a global pandemic could be seen as irresponsible. We only planned these trips and actually went out to meet each other once we were allowed to / Singapore’s circuit breaker had ended. Another ethical choice that we had to make was wether we were allowed to take photos of the places we went, or rather if we were allowed to go to. For example, one place that we visited was a roof top – were we allowed to be there, well it was open to the public, but at the same time during it was quite sus/didn’t feel like a super safe environment
All of this being said, I think that photography has lead to some incredible experiences. For one, a lot of the adventuring me and my friends did together brought me to appreciate buildings and areas of Singapore that I didn’t know. I hope to use this as a reminder and a way for me to enjoy more of the places I visit!
