Cuban Salsa ~ Confirmed to Perform!

Being halfway through to the activity, I’ve begun to enjoy it quite a lot. It’s become a weekly session for me to step into something new and really give it my all – all while having lots of fun with friends of course. What probably keeps me motivated the most is that I get to see several of my friends take on this activity with me, and as such I keep coming back to it.

To me, it’s been a clear demonstration of Learning Outcome 4: Show a commitment to CAS activities. I think that I’ve been able to keep up this commitment by regularly showing up every week as to me with the least dancing skill I want to prove that I can learn this new skill as long as I properly attempt to do so. Though it has been occasionally quite an awkward environment especially at first, I think that the teacher and student relations within the activity have become very supportive and even if we do blunder or make mistakes that safety net is nice to have.

LO2: Challenges have been undertaken, and skills are being developed:
To me, I’ve been able to greatly improve on an a skill I initially though I just don’t have – dancing. Though I wouldn’t say that I am now an amazing dancer, I feel at least that much more confident in my own attempts to do so. I think that’s probably the best skill / quality that dance gives, in that you are inevitably drawn to become more confident in yourself – or rather to be able to stand up on stages / even just in front of your friends and dance takes some sense of courage. Perhaps one of the shocking things about this activity so far is the potential that we might be performing!
