The DJ club emphasises learning while mixing songs. This method of learning is beneficial as we get the full experience of mixing music, and understand how we are performing in each step of the mixing process. Based on the recent sessions, I learned the vital importance of picking a song that has a similar tempo as the song that is currently playing. Otherwise, it sounds odd to the ears when two songs with different tempos as playing. Another area for growth is picking the right time to transition between one song to the other. This timing process is very important, because if done well, it will ensure a seamless transition between two songs allowing for a more enjoyable listening experience.
