Pre Season Badminton – Middle Reflection

Although badminton is quite an easy activity for me, This made me question my morals and what I wanted to work on this year, as it is pre-season, I recognise and see many people who may not have the amount of experience I do. This has led me to try and guide the peers around me so they can improve enough to hopefully get into the Dragons team. I focused much more on helping the others around who hadn’t had much experience with the sport, this also lead me to grow as a player and have a much better attitude when it comes to leading a team or being doubles partners with someone who hasn’t had much experience playing. One thing I remember as a child I struggled with when I first got into badminton was the speed at which I swung my racket, this determines how strong your shot is and is crucial in moves like smashing. This was something I tried to guide my friends with as many of them struggle to determine how fast their racket should go, and teaching them how to listen for the “whoosh” sound lead many of them to be able to practice smashes during pre-season.
