- France is known for romantic intrigue, pastries, musketeers. Context – They just lost a war to Prussia, this is almost building pride for the french ( Cyr = captain France )
- Poetry is more important than business
- White flags blue eye thing is a good line,
- Roxane holds his hand, then tells him she loves someone, could be that she knows that he likes her
- Beautiful is the keyword
- Roxane “I suppose ill have to die” a slight allusion to a woman’s role is solely love and marriage.
- Roxane is smart, is she using charm to get him to do what she wants?
