Family Festival / Service Feedback

A couple days ago it was the family festival, and again we had to organize what to do to maximize our ability to raise money for Tabitha. Being the last family festival for me it’s easy for me too see the impact I’ve had and the progress that the GC has undergone for the past two years. By now it is much easier for me and for the GC to organize what we’re selling, what’s the best way of doing it, and even how much we expect to sell. From our planning we managed to have one of the most profitable selling sessions yet, and even though during the festival itself the execution was a little disorganized at times the outcome of all the planning allowed for a successful family festival. However reflecting after the festival we discussed how we saw our progress, but felt limited by the “system” given upon us to plan.

Which is why I’m very happy I took part in the service session with all the leaders and talked about how to better service at the school. This gave me a medium to voice everything I’ve observed and what I think is the best way to shape service at UWC going forward. This session I managed to have an input in how to “initiate and plan” a CAS activity for the whole of UWC, specially about how we structure our GC’s (since I was representing my GC) and possible improvements on how to create an organic leadership in our services.
