An interview with the founder of SaladStop

Conscious consumption with the Sustainable Enterprise Consultants – Perspectives (uwcsea.edu.sg)

The day came when we interviewed the founder of SaladStop, a popular local chain of restaurants that we had all heard about. It was one thing to theorize about how to reduce consumption in the community, but talking to someone who had implemented these measures on a regional scale provided a concrete example of how this could be done. When the founder shared how they used waste pineapple to make plastic bags, I could tell that the feeling of awe was present across our team as it was an idea that none of us had ever considered possible. The interview catalyzed a recognition that service is as much of an experience that allows me to learn how to design solutions to complex problems as it is giving back to the community.
