Writer’s Fortnight – Mukul Deva

Mukul Deva; Mukul Deva’s talk was extremely interesting and engaging, and for me, very enjoyable. He really interested the audience and hooked us with his talk, as it heavily involved the audience, and made us think. I especially enjoyed it when he guided us along making our own mystery/drama, because we were involved instead of just listening, we learned the basic steps to write a successful peace and it was interesting to hear what other people thought would fit in a story. Another interesting thing was when he talked about his past in the army, spending a lot of time there, and even after gaining a good rank, still wanted more and to get into writing, which he always loved. Incorporating real places with their times changing with other countries correctly was confusing to me, as I had never heard of a writer correctly writing a place keeping everything near perfectly correct, especially about the time of day/night.

  1. It is really thoughtful. You gave your opinions and then state the reasons why. At the end, you said about a phrase that you think is confusing. I find it confusing also, but if you add a bit more details of what he is trying to say and give your own interpretation then, as a reader who did not attend the talk, we will be able to have clues and then develop our own interpretation.
