My goal of researching the history of the Romanov Dynasty in depth remained consistent throughout the EE process. Initially my argument was based slightly more on emotions from when I first read the book “The Romanov Dynasty”, making my argument subjective. However, as I started writing, and began finding evidence for other factors, plus evaluating a range of historian  perspectives, my argument became more objective.

After getting 2 rounds of EE feedback, I wondered the extent to which I could keep researching. I soon learnt that the breadth of this topic was huge, and given a larger word count I could have included another factor (the influence of the Tsarina and Rasputin) into my essay.

The way in which I grew as a historian is that to enhance my personal knowledge, I had to dive deeper into the shared knowledge that was available for my EE topic. This is essential in history, an area of knowledge that is based off the interpretations of facts. I became a better learner too, as I was able to maintain a growth mindset and persevere to keep researching the same topic until I was satisfied with the end product.
