My name is Yeon Seo Ro and I was a FIB last year. Previous to that, I did MYP maths in a different school. In all honesty, I am nervous about starting this course as I do not know how challenging it will be for me. I am really interested in math as I like solving problems of various levels and thinking. However, as I do have a weaker base in math, I cannot fully experience maths to its fullest.

Usually, I prefer to learn maths by myself, with the help of the internet and books. However, if I still do not understand it or if I cannot focus, I’ll ask someone who can teach the specific material to me until I fully understand it.  Also if I do find the chance and time, I would also ask teachers during lunch or other times. When I am stuck at a certain part, I usually prefer to stick to it until I understand it fully.

I’m persistent and creative in maths as I do not give up as easily and would think of shortcuts for solving a problem. However, I think I should be more confident as I would underestimate myself in math, even before starting the topic. I somehow think that just because I am weak in a certain topic, it means that I am weak in all other areas.
