Pre Season 2

I think this year’s preseason has been really worthwhile. Not having PE had a really big impact on my body physically and to be able to finally have that outlet has been really fulfilling. I feel much healthier, although having to use so much energy after AIDA has been quite difficult. It’s also been really challenging to keep up with all of my school work given the busy schedule I have had, so it has been helpful to have been a bit more prepared by distributing my workload with a bit more effort than I usually do.  (LO4)

This season, I had a lot more time to train with the coaches and practice on my drills. I engaged in a lot more singles training and worked on harder stroked like the backhand smash and push. I also did a lot of footwork this season and balanced agility exercises with stamina and strength exercises. I also got to work with some new coaches and with some new younger players, so it was fun to learn and train with others. (LO5)

While I have been working really hard in order to make it to Badminton Season, I have decided to be involved in a concert by the Singapore Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble and NUS Orchestra in Berlin and the rehearsals are on Wednesdays which is one of the practice dates for Badminton. That would mean that I would frequently need to miss rehearsals on Wednesdays. This would be really unfair on my future teammates, or other people who would be able to be more committed in my place. Because of this, I will not be continuing with Badminton season. Hopefully I can find time next year. (LO7)
