Mathematics in grade 11/12

My name is Vatsala and I have currently finished my IGCSE exams and gotten my results for maths. I opted for both extended and additional mathematics for my GCSEs because I was quite confident with the subject hence able to do well. Now I am not too sure if I will be able to cope with the HL course after looking at what they teach which is one of the reasons I chose SL AA. I also realised that even if I was able to manage the level of difficulty, I would have to spend approximately an hour a day for maths which I may not be willing to do. Currently, after the first class I realised I made the right choice as even if it might not challenge me as I was challenged last year, I will still be able to enjoy the course. When I am learning Mathematics, I prefer that the teacher goes through the concept first and then after I can attempt problems on my own. I see myself as a problem solver as often I feel I cannot leave something behind even if I don’t understand it. If I have difficulties coming to the answer, I can always go back and the teacher can explain the concept again. If I am every truly stuck with a problem and it takes more than an hour to solve, I leave the problem and come back to it the following day so I can look at it with a new perspective.
