In the first session, we were introduced to the requirements of the activity and what we will be doing throughout the year. Then we had a vote for who should be the student leader of the activity. All the prospective candidates had to give a speech before the vote took place. Ayush Dutta was elected as the student leader. Then we had to come up with a wide range of questions, which we would ask when we go to the Hougang care center. The main idea of the questionnaire was to obtain information about the prior knowledge of the members and what kind of skills they will require for the future. We also had to come up with a mind map of ideas, which consisted of all the topic which we can teach the members of the Hougang center.Through this session, I was able to develop my self-management skills because I had to organise my ideas in the form of a mind map and I also developed my research skills because I had to formulate questions, which I would ask the members of the Hougang care center.
