Hi, I’m a new listener and I found this super interesting as I haven’t actually observed many instances of vaping in my grade at least (I don’t doubt that it happens, though). I also thought that although peer pressure could be a factor, the media is a much bigger influence, and suprisingly, I was never pressured to drink at parties, instead, I was explicitly told that ‘If you don’t want to then don’t, that’s cool.’ It’s why I believe that the situation is changing, somewhat, but in our school here in Singapore, at least. Awareness is increasing and everyone seems to know what’s good or bad for them: it’s their choices that matter. I’m not sure on how attitudes to drinking and pressure to drink would reflect across peer pressure in smoking or vaping, but that’s what I’ve observed, at least. Super interesting episode! Thanks so much!
