Because we cannot see the absolute entirety of a picture, it skews our perception and we will tend to look at details that may often be overlooked in a regular-sized picture. This can be also seen as a metaphor for life. For instance, during our school life we often get obsessed with tests that may seem large in the current lens but in 20 years may be obsolete.
