LO2, LO6

Now that I have finished this year’s Service, I have learnt a lot from joining ‘music therapy with apex harmony lodge’. First of all, the main thing I learnt was what dementia is and how it is impacting people and how music can help. I also learnt that they aren’t super different from people without dementia and that they can do just as many things but a little bit of assistance may occasionally be needed. From joining this service, my comfort around people based service has increased. Because I am a shy person, I used to try to avoid doing local service where the main thing would be interacting with other people, however, this year I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone.

Unfortunately, I cannot share images me listening to the music with the elderly to protect their privacy and respect the confidentiality.
