Digital safety

Last three sessions we went through cyberbullying, sexting, online behaviours and self-esteem and the highs and laws. I learnt a lot on how cyberbullying can harm others, and that our online behaviours is public, everyone can see what we are doing.

 Questions:

Why is a ‘like’ so addictive?

I think a ‘like’ is like an agreement of your post and shows that people care about you.

Is there anything wrong with craving that virtual attention? Have people gone too far in their criticism of social media?

Everyone is looking for attention also for virtual attention. Somebody can even do things really bad to others just to grab attention. Where I think has gone too far.

Should we be equally concerned about an addiction to social media as we would be to addictions to drugs and alcohol?

I think yes. Because they both do harms on us physically and mentally. Its just mental harms can’t be seen easily.
