I initially thought about topics that interested me and that I already had knowledge on. History and English came to mind – as they tie in with my passion for law and the humanities – and whilst brainstorming individually I came across the topic of analysing political propaganda wherein both areas of study overlapped. Upon realising this, I decided to do a World Studies EE, as I knew that the structure of World Studies appealed to me, and chose my case study of Nazi Germany as it was one I resonated with as I am interested in humanitarian issues. I was primarily worried about how my study of Nazi propaganda, would have a local manifestation and would relate to my lifetime. However, I strategised and during my reflection meeting with my supervisor I was able to come up with parallels between historical and current political propaganda and this helped me with the research and writing process, immensely.
