In a collaboration with several K1 students, the urban gardening propagation group planted a variety of herbs and vegetables in two different gardens. We planned this event to happen during our lunchtimes so we would get to interact and teach the K1’s more about planting seeds.
We helped the younger kids transplant potted plants from small pots into larger tubs behind their classroom in the infant school block. Here is a video {on the right} to showcase and demonstrate the learning process –>
This session was beneficial for teaching the kids how to transplant plants, and become familiar with gardening tools. We sincerely hope it inspired at least a few of them to start developing a passion for gardening and maybe even take on urban gardening in the future.
