Identifying Strength and Weaknesses to Stimulate Personal Growth – Yearbook

As the yearbook photos have been completed, the yearbook activity comes to an end before the spring break in April. I decided to join the yearbook activity as I want to learn more about photography. Yet I could barely reach the level that I can consistently take and edit high-quality cinematic photos if I am going to do 1 right now. However, I had learned a lot about taking and editing photos with this CAS experience.

In this CAS experience, I had identified my own strengths and developed area personal growth by understanding the tasks as easy as taking a group photo can still have a lot of skills to it. At first, I thought a couple of times of taking photos can help me become good at taking group photos as it sounds like a really simple task as putting everyone in the frame nicely with visibility on everyone’s face. However, I had underestimated the experience and knowledge to operate a DSLR that Is required to produce a good raw photo notwithstanding photos also need to go through editing to make it ready for publishing.

On my part, overlooking the seemingly irrelevant skills gave me a slow start compared to other photographers as they are all experienced with this work and produced way better mentor photos than me at first. I went online in my own spare time to study some basic camera skills to help me catch up on the skills that I don’t have. And at the end, I can take some nice mentor photos for some groups.
