Through this activity I learned a lot and gained perspective as well as developed self awareness about the world around me and the backgrounds that individuals come from that are so vastly different from the one we currently live in. I gained an appreciation for art and the way in which it can create meaning through such simple actions. I learned new skills and learned new brush strokes and ways to use digital technology as well for my next project as well. This project provided me with a lot of insight despite being one that was very much outside my comfort zone and something I hadn’t really participated in voluntarily previously. In the future, I hope to take on more challenges such as this as I have seen how this can have a positive impact on not only myself but also others. Working with other people in my club and learning from them, taught me more about art and painting and also how they develop their own skills.
