EE Reflection #2 (Interim Reflection)

Reflection #2:

From this reflective conversation, I have a clearer idea of my experiment and method. I have faced some challenges regarding safety issues and time constraints. My proposal uses lead nitrate powder, which can be considered an environmental hazard. Therefore, the experiment has to be conducted at school, which limits the time I can spend on it. I considered adapting this idea by using a safer chemical which would allow me to conduct the experiment at home, but this was rejected as to not stray from my main focus, which is the impact of water pollution. Because heavy metals from water pollution is a major limiting factor to plant growth, I instead decided to shorten the time period of the experiment from 10 days to 5 days rather than choose a different independent variable. Since seeds are used rather than semi-mature to mature plants, the growth rate is relatively fast, so 5 days was deemed adequate to see any sufficient change.
