Law Society was a way for me to develop my presentation, reasoning and debate skills. From my inclination towards STEM subjects, law society was different from my other activities, enabling me to improve and grow into a more well-rounded individual. The experience of Grade 11 helped me to be able to ‘read to understand the nuances’ as is intrinsic in making judicial and ethical decisions. The process of opening speeches and concluding speeches within the criminal practice allowed me to overcome some fears of public speaking as it created an environment with a small number of people – a place free to make mistakes.
