For season 2 I am undertaking the role of stage manager for the High School Production, titled Aida. This is the second time I have taken the role of stage manager this year. I have just begun this task and I have already faced some challenges. The first challenge I have faced was stepping to become more of a leader and more vocal in my role. As the cast is much larger than the previous production I stage-managed, it is important that I really work harder to manage more and take up more of a vocal role. This is a challenge for me as being vocal and a leader is something I’m not very used to. I overcame this challenge by building self-confidence and familiarizing myself with the cast. As I befriended more cast members I became more comfortable being vocal. I can use the leadership and organizational skills I learned during this role in many aspects of my life. The management skills I learned will be very useful when meeting deadlines and potentially organizing events in the future.
