Chinese Calligraphy – What I have learned
After 2 seasons of doing Calligraphy, I’ve learned a new skill and improved on it in a slow pace. I started the year with the basic skill of writing in Mandarin, but I never explored the world of calligraphy (LO#1). I saw this as an opportunity to improve my Chinese skills beyond the technical aspects of learning a language; it’s an art form that challenges me to be patient, calm, and expressive (LO#2). Even though I didn’t return from this creative experience being an expert in the art of Calligraphy, I still worked on an area that I could improve on and developed the skill consistently throughout the experience.
