I have decided to do research on how Rubik’s Cube designs have enhanced the performance of professional Rubik’s Cube solvers (speedcubers). After polishing the research question with my supervisor, we decided that all of the research will relate to Modular Innovation in the DT syllabus. This means that I will research the incremental improvements of specific components of the Rubik’s cube Design with each release. This informed me to choose cube releases that each has at least one significant innovation of a certain component.  A problem I faced is my initiative to make progress immediately. There were some issues with conflicting arrangements; resulting in a delayed meeting with my supervisor. On the contrary, the meetings were meaningful and produced effective results. Now, I have a clear idea and outline of what research I will do, how I will collect data, and how I will write the first 1000 words of the essay.
