I had started playing netball around the second week of November and had played it for the first time. At first I thought it would be easy considering I had been playing basketball for years before. However, knowing basketball actually made it tricky for me considering it was the exact same objective, but completely different rules. I found it frustrating that I had to stand a certain amount of feet away while defending and that netball is almost a non-contact sport. So, the first training session was difficult for the first 30 minutes as the sport took some getting used to. However, I thought it was a good change from basketball, considering the my biggest challenge in basketball was stamina and netball does not require as much running. Furthermore, I was ably to transfer skills such as passing the ball, and dodging the defender from basketball, so it made netball almost the ideal sport for me.

Unfortunately the next week during netball training, I ended up breaking my arm. It was during the beginning of the session, we were warming up by playing a game of tag and I tripped over my foot while running and fell on my right arm. The result was a double fracture that meant I could not play any contact sports for the next three months. Fortunately, it healed in a cast and I did not need surgery. However, I stil find it difficult to do much with my right hand since my physiotherapy could not be completed as a result of COVID-19. I am hoping that I can get back to playing netball next year as it is a sport that I genuinely enjoyed and would have continued playing had I not injured my arm.
