The first dance taught was about their history with fishing. Fish were their main source of protein and were considered to be part of their everyday meal. The movement of the dance was huge as if we were catching the fish in our nets when we rowed out into the sea. It shows the determination of the people and their lively atmosphere to live their simple lives. A lot of energy was used in this dance to portray the hardship they endured and under the hot sun. It also shows the feeling of a community working together and helping one another with this traditional song. It made me realise how fortunate I am to be living in the 21st century with everything at the tip of my fingers instead of having to go out and hunt. The next 2 songs are more upbeat and I feel that its to show how Japand as a country has moved on from a village lifestyle to a more modern world
