Paper 1 Notes

We looked at “The Banished Gods” by Derek Mahon. Where nature is personified and prompts the readers to feel remorse or regret towards modern life. I started writing a paper 1 introduction 3 times because I was not happy with how my ideas sounded on the paper, as well as realising a new idea and writing that instead. During the exam, I’ll need to trust myself and my ideas and run with it, without wasting time overthinking about what I like or do not like about my writing.

In the introduction I should make sure to not state or list techniques, focusing more on the feeling of the poem and using that to set up the topic sentence and ideas. Using descriptive words, perhaps alluding to the technique, but not stating it.
