Commitment to Care

Commitment to Care

  • I can identify and participate in student initiatives to support our community
  • I can explain how my choices may affect others personally, locally, globally
  • I can work with others to advocate for changes or improvements

To me, commitment to care means to incorporate the values we learn at UWCSEA into things in our daily lives. In UWCSEA, we particular pay attention to doing service and it is a part of our school life even if we don’t particularly realize the importance of it.  Not necessarily in a formal way, but committing to care means to actually act on the values that we have learned for something as simple as just helping an older lady by opening the door and having a nice conversation with her. Something as small as this is a part of being committed to caring. But being aware of your actions is what sets you apart in terms of committing to care.

Integrity. Integrity to me means to be honest. There’s something that sets apart one that has integrity and one that doesn’t. If I were to lose something or not complete my homework instead of hiding away from the problem I would tell my teacher and be honest about it. I feel like honesty is so important in everything. It sets you apart from everyone else.
