Knit a Square – Update

Figuring out how to ship the knitted squares to Thailand took longer than we originally anticipated. It turns out we need to get it shipped through the school, which meant working together with the mailroom as well as the service office, and finding out that we absolutely had to use DHL to ship—as some kind of school policy. I am bringing down the boxes today with my friends to the mailroom, and honestly it is a relief that I am almost through with this process. I did not want to pass this on to this year’s chairs as their task to figure out, because I think it is my responsibility to see this completed. All in all, I think the transition of leadership from us to the new chairs has gone fairly smoothly. It is good to see them take control over the team, while I can quietly go into ‘retirement.’ I am only now realising just how much pressure I felt as the chair of KAS, and I think I carried that responsibility well for the past year. Through this process, I think I demonstrated my commitment and perseverance despite there being many challenges to overcome.
