To me, family love is pretty precious to me.

So I settled with a really iconic picture of a mother and her baby.

Not so happy with the shading but hey, I could have done worse.

 

I came up with this idea of a star when I stumbled onto my new favourite singer, 韩红 (Han Hong) this holiday.

Her singing was so full of emotions, that when she was sing 《天亮了》, a really sad song, I cried.

So just to shout out to Han Hong for her amazing voice, here’s a compilation of her participation in one of China’s famous singing competitions – 我是歌手

 

That’s right: I’m back!

Just flew back yesterday night and ready to upload those drawings!

I will be splitting the uploads between today and tomorrow, just because I doubt I would have enough time for tonight*.

So expect today’s drawing to be uploaded tomorrow for the numbers’ sake.

*It’s a not so tedious process… It’s just that it takes some time to scan them in 1200dpi.

But maybe, something towards the end, I will do a “How I INKtober 2018” post… If there’s even any time.

I am currently away on a holiday, so I won’t be updating the portfolio much with my drawings.

Rest assured,  I will be drawing every day, just that I won’t be uploading them until I return to Singapore.

Prompt 5 – COMPLETED

 

This prompt, ‘Chicken’, has been such a coincidence, since, for day 3 of INKtober, I drew a chicken as my subject.

It really is hard to draw when you have an initial image in your head.

When drawing, I had a hard time trying to capture the facial expression I wanted, which is a face of someone running for their life comedically.

Although I have posted my picture, I am still not satisfied with it.

But other than that, I am quite satisfied with my chicken.

Prompt 4 – COMPLETED!

When you think of spells, you would think of a witch.

Well, I did too, but I wanted to do something different.

So I thought about the magic of kindness, which everybody has.

They just need to learn to use it, like a spell.

It’s a little rushed but it was a good compromise for my other drawing (which I may or may not upload it. Depends)

Prompt 3 – COMPLETED!

I had a hard time with this. I wanted to do roasted chicken, but I am running out of my 0.2 pen ink! I think I’ll just resort to my writing pen…

This is a simpler one as I had to rush this within 20 minutes since it was a busy day today.

Prompt 2 – COMPLETED!

I had a hard time thinking for this prompt because I wanted to actually draw a scenery instead, but it would be too much work for me…

So I just settled with something close to me – a lotus, since I am a Buddhist

A little tempted to put in a sentence again but thought that it would spoil the drawing, so I settled with the word ‘tranquil’ in both languages (The Chinese one looks so authentic though)

I actually met someone who is also doing INKtober, but instead of following the prompts, she has her own list of things she wants to draw.

That’s pretty cool since I myself lack any ideas of what to draw myself (unless someone gives me a topic)

Prompt 1 – COMPLETE!

I just realized that actually, snakes are venomous, not poisonous… Whoops.

Yup, that’s right!

It ain’t October, it’s INKtober!

Inktober is basically a drawing challenge where you draw a piece of art every day with ink*.

Although this challenge that I am planning to take on requires a huge commitment to it, I am going to go for it.

Because lately, I feel as if I haven’t been drawing a lot for myself, so this is a pretty good opportunity to not only get my creative^# brain juice going but also to retain my passion.

Plus, we are going to have a 2 week holiday during the month, which means that I won’t need to worry about homework (yet)!

I plan to update the portfolio every day if possible with my finished drawings.

So look forward to them.
