DJ Club Half Term Reflection

So far this year, I have had 4 sessions of DJ Club. I, along with 4 other students in my group, have learned how a DJ deck works and how to transition between two songs through beat matching. This is a skill I have never tried before, and that can be at times difficult to understand. At several times it has been frustrating only having one short lunch session per week, as often times it is not enough time to practise what we have learned within that session, and I will have forgotten how to do it by the following week. Over time, I hope my skills will accumulate and I will have sufficient skills to perform in front of an audience.

As I said earlier, this activity has already challenged me by learning something new, relating to learning outcome 2. It could also be linked to learning outcome 4, showing perseverance in your activity, since it is tough to learn from 30 minutes per week. This can translate into other activities and academics as well, as I will be more prepared on what I will feel like and what I should do when something is challenging or I feel like something is not working.

So far this activity has been very fun and I feel I have learned a lot. I hope that going forwards I will feel the same, and that at some point I might possibly be able to become a leader or teacher within this activity.
